Direct Entry Captains

RavnAir Alaska is now hiring Direct Entry Captains (NEW as of October 2018). To qualify, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Airline Transport Pilot Certificate;
  • A minimum age of 23 years;
  • A minimum of 2,500 hours in fixed wing aircraft;
  • 1,000 hours of multi-engine turbine experience;
  • 1,000 hours of air carrier experience meeting the requirements of FAR 121.436, or in possession of an exemption. Note that time spent flying multi-engine aircraft under Part 135 in commuter operations is applicable;
  • Current FAA First Class Medical certificate.

Additional Notes

  • Monthly guarantee is 70 hours;
  • Service tier is number of years in seat position;
  • Pilot candidates in training are paid tier one F/O monthly guarantee (i.e. $60/hr at 70 hours per month);
  • $10,000 new hire bonus for pilots currently holding ATP certificate*;
  • First Officers on seniority list beginning in 2018 can receive up to $15,000 in retention bonuses annually;
  • $5000 relocation reimbursement for new hire pilots outside the Anchorage area*;
  • Company will cover the cost of ATP CTP if a new hire pilot meets the minimums*;
  • Company provides Known Crewmember (KCM) (NEW as of January 2019).

RavnAir Connect (Part 135) Benefits Package

C-208 SIC pay rate: $205 per day.
BE-1900 SIC pay rate: $205 per day.
PIC Pay: Captains receive their daily rate plus bonus hours. Bonus hourly pay is based on a 4.5 hour a day average. Any block hours over an average of 4.5 hours per day, over the course of a calendar month, will be paid at the applicable hourly bonus rate.

 

C-207 PIC Pay: Bonus pay is $60 per hour.

Premium/Call Out Pay: These days requested and approved by the Chief Pilot’s office will be paid at $150.00 per day extra.

Per Diem:

Pilots are eligible for per diem at $40 per day for overnight trips spent away from their assigned base. If pilots elect to work extra days away from their normally assigned base, these days will not be paid per diem.

Standby Charter Pay:

For charters that require scheduled standby time greater than one (1) hour, a minimum guarantee of 4.5 hours will be allotted to that flight day, regardless of actual block time. If the total block time for the day is greater than 4.5 hours, no additional time will be allotted. Standby charters that qualify for this compensation will be noted in advance.

Bereavement Leave:

Full time, regular employees will be allowed up to a maximum of three days off with pay for a death in the employee’s immediate family to attend services or attend to immediate, necessary business surrounding the family members’ death. Members of the immediate family are considered to be spouse, children, grandchildren, parents, siblings, grandparents, mother in law, or father in law. Employee absences for the death of a relative other than a member of the employee’s immediate family may be covered with PTO at the discretion of the employee’s supervisor. Bereavement leave is only allowed within 30 days of the qualified family member’s passing.

Paid Time Off (PTO):

Crewmembers will accrue PTO consistent with the schedule below:

  • PTO will be accrued by each crewmember who is considered a full time employee.
  • PTO accrual will begin at the crewmember’s date of hire but will not be eligible for use until six (6) months from date of hire.

Using Paid Time Off (PTO):

  • Employees may only use PTO in full day increments;
  • Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA): Under FMLA, PTO must be used from day one of FMLA until PTO is exhausted;
  • Pre-Approved Vacation: Crewmembers who elect to take pre-approved vacation will be responsible for finding a replacement pilot for their normally assigned work shift; crewmembers must submit a request to the Chief Pilot’s office for approval following the normal procedures for schedule changes.
