Ravn Alaska proud sponsor of men’s college basketball game between rivals UAF Nanooks vs. UAA Seawolves

Fairbanks, Alaska – Today Ravn Air Group (“Ravn”), Alaska’s largest regional airline, sponsored the much-anticipated Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) men’s college basketball game between instate rivals, the Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks and the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves.

Hosted in Fairbanks, the UAA Seawolves won the close contest, 44-43, in the second-to-last game of the regular season as each team vies for a spot in the upcoming GNAC Championships. UAA Senior D.J. Ursery led the team with 14 points and 10 rebounds. He also put in a last second jumper to win the game for UAA. The Nanooks were led by guard Kimble Davis, who put in 15 points.

Ravn has been a longstanding sponsor of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Athletic Department, dating back more than ten years.

“Alaskans love their sports teams, and as Alaska’s hometown airline, supporting our universities’ sports programs and our state’s talented athletes is important to our communities, said Derek Shanks, Chief Commercial Officer, Ravn Alaska. “Events like today’s game bring people together for great entertainment and we’re honored to be a part of the fun.”

As part of the event, Ravn sponsored a half time shootout contest for fans, giving away prizes including free flights and points through their FlyAway Rewards mileage program. Winners received a gold level membership, plus 200 points worth two roundtrip tickets; a silver level membership, plus 100 points, worth one roundtrip ticket; and 50 points worth a single one-way trip. The airfare prizes can be redeemed for any Ravn Alaska or Ravn Connect flight. For more information on Ravn’s FlyAway Rewards program, visit flyravn.com.
