RavnAir Group Announces Unalaska Flight Schedule through May 31, 2020

Flight schedules to Unalaska/Dutch Harbor through May 31, 2020 have been released and seats are now for sale on RavnAir Alaska.

The new flight schedule includes up to 17 flights per week, with up to seven flights per day, during the upcoming “peak” travel period associated with the seafood industry “A” season between 12/26/19 and 1/24/20.

Schedules have been updated and are available for booking in the reservations system at flyravn.com or by calling 1-800-866-8394.  As was the case with previous flights, the new schedule includes seats reserved on each flight for local Unalaska residents for the “Home for Holiday” program during the busy “A” season period.

To help local Unalaska residents and other frequent flyers more quickly earn enough points for frequent flyer reward tickets and travel, RavnAir Alaska will be offering all new members of its “FlyAway Rewards” Program a bonus of double points on all flights to and from Unalaska/Dutch Harbor through December 31, 2019. New FlyAway Rewards members who sign-up between 11/14/19 and 1/31/20 to establish a new account will also be awarded an additional 20 points.  In addition, for 2019 only, all points earned in 2019 by any new Ravn FlyAway Rewards members (i.e. new accounts established between November 25 – December 31, 2019), will count towards elite status in 2020.  Sign-up is available at www.flyravn.com/flyaway-rewards.

RavnAir Alaska will continue to fly DHC-8-100 aircraft to Unalaska/Dutch Harbor during this newly announced flight schedule period that will be a continuation of the airlines regularly scheduled commercial service which began on November 14th.

Flights to Unalaska/Dutch Harbor from Anchorage are expected to perform a technical stop for refueling on the way to Unalaska/Dutch Harbor – unless winds and weather permit direct flights; however, RavnAir Alaska expects most return flights to Anchorage to be non-stop.

Because of the company’s focus on new Dash 8 service, a comprehensive review of Saab 2000 operations into Dutch Harbor, and the official NTSB accident investigation that is still underway, RavnAir Group does not yet have any additional information on when PenAir will be able to resume Saab 2000 service to this market.

Existing RavnAir Alaska bag fees will apply on the new Anchorage-Unalaska/Dutch Harbor route for all passengers ticketed from November 25th onwards, with passengers receiving a FREE first standard size checked bag as part of their ticket purchase.  A second standard size bag will cost $15.00, and the third through fifth such bags will cost $75 apiece.

For interline itineraries involving segments operated by Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, United Airlines, or Delta Air Lines, baggage will be transferred between RavnAir Alaska and those airlines at Anchorage.  Club 49 and Alaska Airlines Signature card benefits will not be available on RavnAir Alaska flights.

Status of Unalaska Scheduled Service

RavnAir Group would like to thank the community of Unalaska for its patience as we have moved forward with daily scheduled air service to the community, using the DeHavilland Dash 8.

As the community is aware, we had previously scheduled flights through December 25, 2019. We are working with Alaska Airlines, as they are moving all customer reservations to RavnAir Alaska through December 25. Per Alaska Airlines announcement today, “Anyone who booked a ticket through Alaska Airlines that is now one of the canceled PenAir flights, will receive an email informing them that their DUT-ANC or ANC-DUT flight will automatically be rebooked on a Ravn flight, for no additional charge. This will apply both to tickets purchased with cash, and those booked as award flights through Alaska Airlines Mileage Program. Bags will be checked to the guest’s final destination. For more information please see Alaska Airlines blog at https://blog.alaskaair.com/alaska-airlines/operations/penair-flight-3296/

RavnAir Group plans to have a schedule from December 25th on, posted sometime in the next week to address holiday travel and the important upcoming A Season, at which time, Alaska Airlines will be able to move reservations from this time period to RavnAir Alaska as well.
